Handwoven in Ireland from natural reeds, the St Brigid’s Cross is one of Ireland’s most recognisable symbols of Christian faith and heritage. Traditionally made around the feast of St Brigid, these crosses have been placed in Irish homes for generations as a sign of faith, blessing and protection, and are traditionally associated with protecting the home, particularly from fire. Each Willow Cottage cross is made individually by hand, so natural variations in colour, shape and weave make every piece unique. The crosses are available in 6", 7" and 8" sizes and are supplied with a special annual Willow Cottage tag, with the design changing from year to year to reflect the Catholic year or a chosen devotion. Each cross also includes St Brigid’s Blessing, which can be easily detached and kept in a wallet or phone case.
